Family: Spike (Father), Sweetie Belle (Mother-deceased)
Species: 50 % Dragon - 50% Unicorn
Build: Bulky; Can Be quadrupedal or bipedal.
Special Talent: Cooking with fire; Flambés, grilling, hell even roasting marshmallows. He can get it perfect. He also loves adventurous flavor combinations and makes the BEST hot chocolate in Equestria using a secret recipe of his own creation. He cannot do much magic outside of basic levitation.
Occupation: Chef’s Apprentice; Jet is the apprentice of Rosa and Creme Anglaise along side Creme’s sister Strawberry Frasier.

Personality/Background: Jet is the only son of Spike the dragon and Sweetie Belle, and has had a difficult life. Spike and Sweetie Belle married young and when Sweetie got pregnant it was a surprise to them both- they were barely adults and now they were going to have a child of their own?! They were terrified, but decided to keep the baby. As the pregnancy went on however Sweetie Belle began to get sicker and sicker to the point she was put on constant bedrest and Spike rarely left her side. After eleven grueling months Jet was born and he became the light of the couple’s life, but Sweetie Belle never fully recovered and had days where she could barely move. Spike was left to do most of the care for Jet, which took a toll on the young dragon. Not long after Jet turned five years old Sweetie Belle took a turn for the worse and passed away, this was a terrible blow for Spike and it made him want to blame his son. If he hadn’t have been born Sweetie would still be alive and healthy after all- but Spike knew he couldn’t, Jet had been the only thing that brought her happiness in her last days and he couldn’t bring himself to hate him, he couldn’t help being born.

This didn’t stop Spike from pulling away from his son though and throwing himself into his work as Ambassador to the Dragon Lands, keeping him away from Jet often. He was normally left in the care of his “Auntie Twily” for weeks at a time and he never got to spend a lot of time with his father. On one particular instance however when Spike took him on a trip to Canterlot Jet finally found his calling- he fell in love with the city and with cooking after seeing Rosa and Creme at work. He didn’t want to leave.. So Spike didn’t make him, he talked to Pinkie and Blueblood and now Jet has been practically adopted into the Pie family as the son they never had, as well as apprenticing under Rosie. Jet finally felt like he had a real home and a father figure who loved him in Blueblood. While he doesn’t have the closest relationship with Beau the two of them do still look out for each other, kinda like the mean older sister and the annoying younger brother sort of way. He even spends the holidays with the Pie family and his favorite “cousin” is Confetti Jasper, seeing as she’s also a dragon hybrid and therefore someone he can wrestle with without fear of severely injuring them- Connie has 5 wins while he has 3 and he plans to even the score.

He’s seemingly a very laidback and fun guy to be around, until you get him in the kitchen and he becomes a fire breathing maniac, or you get him near his dad and he becomes a melancholy and anxious boy.


Special:
- He remembers his mother a little bit, he remembers her singing. He also has heard stories about her from Applebloom and Scootaloo when he lived in Ponyville. He knows he shouldn’t feel guilty, but part of him has always believed that if he hadn’t been born she’d still be alive.

- He loves his Auntie Twily and his cousins, but he could never shake the feeling that he was a burden on them- no matter what any of them said. Now though he has more confidence in himself and he goes and visits them often. He also loves spending time with his cousin Ace Dapperpaws when he’s off duty, they have guy’s night together.

- He loves his dad, but they aren’t at all close. When they see each other it’s very tense and you can clearly tell that there’s something that needs to be said between them both, but they just refuse too. Jet’s always been afraid of messing up around his father in fear of it making him not love him anymore. While Spike doesn’t know how to approach his son about anything, he doesn’t even know how to give him basic praise or even a hug. Part of him is afraid to get close to his son out of fear he’ll lose him too.

- He has a beautiful singing voice that he inherited from Sweetie Belle. Spike told him not to sing in front of him and so now he sings as much as he wants too because he doesn’t live with his dad anymore.

- Strangely enough Jet did inherit a love of comic books and Ogres & Oubliettes from his father, but he’s never told him about it so he doesn’t know that his dad loved them too.

- He has a not-so-secret crush on Creme Anglaise while her sister Strawberry Fraiser has an angry-rivalry-crush on him that he is 100% oblivious too. History’s kinda repeating itself, hopefully not too much.

- Spike is currently still doing work as an ambassador, and opening up to the new Ambassador to Griffinstone- the griffin Gabby. He and Gabby were aquatinted through Sweetie Belle, but didn’t really become friends until recently.
